Bra Fitting at Bravissimo

I am a 30plus blogger so I really don't know why I have put off having a bra fitting for so long.  I have suffered many a badly fitting bra in the past so I finally popped into Bravissimo which  is a shop that specialises in underwear in D cup and above. I didn't book an appointment, so had to wait about 5 minutes before a bra fitter was available.  I had picked a style of bra that I liked and also a sports bra to take in to the fitting with me.

The bra fitter came into the changing room with me and told me that they didn't use a tape measure, so she checked the fit of the bra that I was wearing (which fit really well according to her which was great as I had purposely chosen one of my better fitting bras).  First of all she went to find out if they had the styles that I had already picked in my size (the same size as the bra that I was wearing).  When she came back she advised that they didn't have my size in the bra that I had picked, so she brought a similar bra that fitted the same and she could order the other style to be posted out to me free if I chose.  She then asked if I preferred if she left the fitting room while I tried on the bras, so don't worry of you are shy as you don't have to strip off in front of them or anything.

After I tried on the bra and sports bra, she checked the fit of both and they fitted really well, so she went and brought me a selection of other styles to try out.
Bra Fitting at Bravissimo
There is absolutely no pressure to buy anything and once you have been fitted and tried everything on you can take the bras out of the fitting room to make the choice on your own.  I won't lie, the bras are more expensive that say M&S, but they fit so well I bought 2 bras and also a sports bra.  One of the bras I tried on and wanted to purchase had a minor fault on it, so they were happy to order me another one which would be posted out to me for free and I received it in less than a week which was great service.

When you make your purchase you can also opt to join a rewards point scheme and you receive 1 point for every bra you buy and when you reach 10 points you receive your next bra free.

Overall I was really happy with the service and the selection of bras that they sell and I think I will make the effort to have a bra fitted at least once a year to check that I haven't changed size. I was also pretty chuffed that the bra that I wore during my visit was a good fit as I had measured myself previously and did not know if I had done it correctly. It's worth noting that just because I am one size at Bravissimo does not mean that I will be the same size at every other shop as of course sizes can vary between styles and shops.

Merumaya Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel Review

I have been using Merumaya Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel* for about a month now and I'm really happy with the results.  It's really easy to use, you cleanse your face and apply a thick layer to your clean skin and leave for 5-15 minutes.  It has a pleasant, light fragrance and after application I found that there was a slight tingling sensation on my skin, but this was not uncomfortable.  After 15 minutes (I leave it on for the maximum amount of time as I like to relax with it on in the bath), I then remove the excess with a muslin cloth.  It leaves my skin looking brighter and it feels smoother.  I really like this product and it has become a staple in my skincare routine. I use it once a week, but you can use it up to 3 times a week.

This gel formula peel gently eliminates dead skin cells at the surface to reveal the natural radiance and luminosity of your skin.  It's formulated using dual technology of Glycolic Acid integrated with Pomegranate Enzymes.

If you are looking for a product to brighten your skin at a reasonable price then give the Merumaya Skin Brghtening Exfoliating Peel a try (It's £19.50 for 50ml).

I really like the Merumaya products that I have used so far.  My review for the Melting Cleansing Balm is here.  Merumaya is a great British brand and does not test on animals and they do not use parabens in their products.

Have you tried any Merumaya products?

*I received this product free from Merumaya, but my review is completely my own and I was not paid for this post.

Bend It Like Beckham The Musical

I've just got back from 2 days in London and I had a great time.  I went to see Bend It Like Beckham The Musical while I was there as I loved the film and I also like Jamie Campbell Bower who starred in The Mortal Instruments and Twilight (to name just a couple of movies he's been in).
Photo from Bend It Like Beckham Website
This really was a fab show, really funny and engaging and I loved the songs. I must admit one of the things I was worried would let the show down was the songs as the film that it's based on was not a musical, but they were all really catchy.  The actors were fantastic and the leads had great chemistry.  I really enjoyed watching the entire cast.  The traditional Indian family of Jess the female lead were really funny and there were plenty of laugh out loud moments throughout the show.  I loved that the cast kept walking through the aisles when they exited the stage as well.  We were sitting by the centre aisle, so enjoyed the fact that so many of the main cast walked right past us.

I would totally recommend going to see this musical if you are visiting London. It's on at The Phoenix Theatre on Charing Cross Road.  We were near the back of the stalls and still had a great view as it's a relatively small theatre.

I'm not sure how long the show is playing for but if you are in London it's definitely worth going to see as it's a real feel good musical.  I would definitely go see it a second time.  Check out their website here.

Victoria's Secrets Offer - Buy One Get One Free on Fragrance Mists

I couldn't resist the current offer on at Victoria's Secret when I went shopping today.  It was Buy One Get One Free on the Fragrance Mists.  I really like their Fragrance Mists but at £22 I like to wait for one of their offers, such as getting the reward card when you spend £10 or more, or BOGOF.
Victoria's Secrets Offer - Buy One Get One Free on Fragrance Mists
I could have bought them all but in the end, after much deliberation I decided to go for the following:

Bombshell Body Mist which is described on their US website as a glamorous blend of purple passion fruit, Shangri-la yellow peony and vanilla orchid.

Scandalous Fragrance Mist which is described on their US website as a sultry blend of raspberry liqueur, black peony and praline.

I love the smell of them and at £22 for both I couldn't help myself.

I'm not sure how long the offer is on for but it's worth checking out if you have a Victoria's Secret store nearby.

Cult Beauty Haul

Cult Beauty had some great offers on recently, so of course I had to take advantage of them.  Here's what I bought.

The first offer was spend £95 and receive a free goody bag worth £170.  I knew it would be easy to spend £95 at Cult Beauty and I duly bought:
Cult Beauty Haul
Living Proof Curl Detangling Rinse and Conditioning Wash. I can't wait to try out these products as I have never bought anything from this brand before.  I have been on a quest to find products that help me to make the most of my natural curls (see my previous post about that here) so I will try these out and let you know how I get on.

I sometimes suffer from an itchy scalp at the back of my head near my neck and even though it's not too bad I wanted to try out a product that would help with this.  So I picked up Sachajuan Scalp Shampoo which helps to sooth irritated scalp.  Again, I will let you know how I get on with this.

One thing that I had not planned on buying was Alpha H Liquid Gold, but the more I read about it, the more I thought that I had to buy it.  My skin tends to look a bit dull and lifeless, so I think this product may help to improve the look and feel of my skin and hopefully even out the skin tone and make it look brighter.  I live in hope.

I had not heard of Anastasia Beverly Hills Beauty Genius although I do have some other products from this brand.  I have oily eyelids which makes wearing eye liners and cream eye shadows a nightmare as they just crease and slip off throughout the day even with a primer underneath.  This gel product bonds, seals and waterproofs makeup.

Finally I picked up Faust's Potions,  This pack contains one Awake Potion and one Asleep Potion combining over 30 essential vitamins, minerals and herbal extracts for day and night.

Here's what was contained in the free goody bag.  You can see a full list in this post.
Cult Beauty Goody Bag
I was tempted to add Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 to my order, but as I had already spent the required £95 to receive the goody bag, I thought better of it and added it to my Cult Beauty wish list instead.  I'm glad that I did as a day or so later, Cult Beauty were offering a free product with any order over £25.  So I purchased Molecule 01 and received a free Bio-essence Miracle Bio Water Jelly Makeup Remover worth £16.
Cult Beauty Haul
I'm really happy with my haul and can't wait to try out all the products.  It's always so much easier to justify these types of purchases when there are offers such as these available.  My next wish list is jam packed, waiting for the next goody bag offer.

What's on your wish list?

Angela Langford Skincare Sample Pack

I love happening upon skincare brands that I have never come across before. One such brand is Angela Langford which I spied on my facebook page one day. The thing that caught my interest was the skincare sample pack which costs £4.50 for postage and packing.  How many times do you buy a product, because it seems like it will be perfectly suited to your skin, only to find that it's not quite right, so you discard it and move onto the next one looking for your holy grail product.  Angela Langford gives you the opportunity to try a range of sample products before you commit to buying the full size which I think is great and shows how confident she is about her products.

Angela will hand select a range of samples suitable for your skin type based on some questions that you answer when you purchase the sample pack. I received this lovely package a couple of days after I placed my order.  It came with a personalised letter from Angela explaining the samples that she had selected for me which was a nice touch.  There was also a 15% discount code to use with my first order and a leaflet containing full details of each product, including ingredients, how they work and how to use them.
Angela Langford Skincare
First of all I received a sample of Sweet Cheeks which is a mild and gentle non-foaming face wash that contains rose petals to help with skin impurities and papaya extract which helps to slough off dry skin and stabilises oily areas and clears pores.

Scrub Up Exfoliator is to be used a couple of times a week.  It's gentle because the jojoba peeling grains are very smooth so won't damage skin and combined with natural fruit acids and papaya extract, this exfoliator can really help improve the appearance of skin.

Perfect Pores Serum contains raw materials that will improve the appearance of your skin, diminish the appearance of pores and protect skin from free radicals. The serum can be followed up by a few drops of the Bloom & Glow Face Oil which can help balance your skin and restore its radiance.

The ingredients used in the products are all high quality, natural and where possible organic. They do not contain parabens, petrochemicals, synthetic fragrances or colours and are not tested on animals.  All the products are hand made in Somerset.

I thought all the samples were a generous size which allowed me to try them out at least 3 times.  Sweet Cheeks smelled really nice and left my skin feeling clean, but without any tightness.  It also did not sting my eyes which shows how gentle it is. Scrub up is really nice as you can feel the scrubbing effect, but it is not harsh on the skin.  Again, another great smelling product.  Perfect Pores sinks into the skin really quickly and a little goes a long way.  Finally, you only need to use a couple of drops of Bloom & Glow and together with the serum my skin was left looking brighter and there was definitely no need for a moisturiser afterwards.  The oil sinks into the skin instantly and does not leave behind a greasy residue.  Overall,  I really liked this range of products and I think Angela picked the perfect samples for me to try out.

Have you tried any Angela Langford products?
