Vidal Sassoon Salonist Permanent Hair Colour Review

I recently used Vidal Sassoon Salonist to colour my hair and I have to say I am really impressed with this hair colour.
Vidal Sassoon Salonist Permanent Hair Colour Review
The unique thing about Vidal Sassoon Salonist is that it has a 2 step process. You apply the product to your roots first, leave for 20 minutes and then add a serum to the colourant and apply to your lengths and leave for another 10 minutes.

Vidal Sassoon Salonist was relatively easy to apply to my roots, although I will admit that I did need help to apply it to the back of my head.   The rest of the application was easy and I can't believe it only took 10 minutes for the serum part of the application to take.

The instruction included with Vidal Sassoon Salonist could not be clearer which was helpful. I love the fact that a brush is included in order to help you paint your roots. This is a unique part of the product which I have never seen included with any other hair dye.

It's so different from any that I have used in the past and it's probably the best one that I have ever tried. It's the only hair colour that has left me with the same overall colour on my roots and on the ends of my hair. It does not seem to be one block colour and it has left my curly hair shiny and glossy. It's worth the effort of the two stage process to apply the colour and the brush that is included in the pack is very useful.

The results were the best I have ever experienced and as close to a salon finish as I could hope to achieve at home. There was no difference between the colour on the roots and the length which is definitely a first for me. The colour was pretty much spot on to the photo on the front of the pack. Usually when I use a dark brown hair dye, it ends up almost black on my hair.

I love the results and I will definitely use Vidal Sassoon Salonist again. The results were the best I have ever experienced with a home hair dye.

I received this free from Supersavvy to try out and report back on.  My review is an honest review of what I thought of this product.

Book Review - Deliciously Ella by Ella Woodward & The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying by Marie Kondo

I haven't written a book review before, usually because I buy books at charity shops and they are not very uptodate, but I wanted to highlight a couple of new books that I recently purchased as I am finding them very helpful in my quest to eat healthier and declutter my life.
Deliciously Ella by Ella Woodward & The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying by Marie Kondo

First of all there is Deliciously Ella. Ella Woodward writes one of my favourite healthy food blogs and she has now written a book full of more healthy recipes. To get a taster of what’s in the book just visit the Deliciously Ella blog. I am not much of a cook, but these recipes are so easy to follow and the results are fab. I am a bit of a junk food and chocolate addict, but even I am happy to switch out sweets and treats for Ellas raw brownies or chocolate mousse. Much of the ingredients are items that I have never bought before and I do have to visit health food shops to stock up which can be expensive, but it’s all used in so many of the recipes that it's worth the initial outlay. I love the different smoothie recipes as well, which make for a quick, easy and healthy breakfast. The book is currently £7.99 on Amazon (£7.49 on Kindle), which I think is great value.

The second book that I am reading is The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying by Marie Kondo. I am not a tidy person and I do like to hoard things (clothes, books, shoes, toiletries and makeup, cds and dvds.  You name it, I have too much of it. This book gives tips on how to store all these things and part ways with anything that does not bring joy to your life (sounds a bit weird I know). So far I have used this method to tidy my clothes and it’s just so nice to be able to look in my cupboards and drawers and see all my clothes, rather than the ones that end up at the front or top of the pile.

It’s now very clear to me that I do not need to purchase any pjs or t-shirts for a very long time. It does take a while to sort everything out and fold everything in a different way, but it’s well worth it and the book also helps you decide what stuff is worth keeping and what stuff needs to go. I have to say that I can’t get rid of as much stuff as the book suggests, because I can’t help but think of all the money that has been spent along the way, but it’s definitely a new and helpful way of thinking. The book is available on Amazon for £7.69 (£7.31 on Kindle).

My Top 5 - Holiday Destinations

These are my top 5 holiday destinations:

Orlando, Florida - I have been loads of times over the years, but it's a place that I never get bored of as there is so much to do.  There's something new every time I visit.  My favourite places are Disney World and Universal Studios.
Orlando, Florida
Harry Potter Brought to Life at Universal
Las Vegas - This is another place that I have visited a few times and I would love to go back to.  There is so much to do and the hotels are amazing.  The shopping's not bad either.
Las Vegas
New York New York Hotel Las Vegas
New York - Yes I love the States - I have been to New York 3 times and I still feel like there is loads more to do.  I love to visit in November when it's crisp and sunny and some of the Thanksgiving decorations are starting to go up.  I love the fact that there seems to be a Sephora on every corner and also that there are so many familiar sights from movies.
New York
LA - I visited for the first time in 2013 and I can't wait to go back.  I love movies and touring the LA movie studios and film sets was an absolute blast. I also took a tour around Beverley Hills and Rodeo Drive.  I saw a couple of mildly famous people as well (David Duchovney & Johnny Knoxville).  Next time I visit I am going to spend more time in Santa Monica at the beach.
Paris - I love that fact that it's only a 2 hour train ride away and that I can get my Disney fix as well as some culture at the same time.  I will definitely go for a short break there soon.  You can read about my last trip report here.
Disneyland Paris
Honourable mentions go to Hawaii and Rome which I would thoroughly recommend. What are your favourite holiday destinations?

Merumaya Integrative Effective Skincare Melting Cleansing Balm Review

I recently received a tube of Merumaya Integrative Effective Skincare Melting Cleansing Balm in a You Beauty Discovery Box.
Merumaya Integrative Effective Skincare Melting Cleansing Balm
Merumaya is a British brand which is always great to see and you can read more about Merumaya here.

The melting cleansing balm is a nice product which is easy to use and does a good job of cleaning your skin.  You just need to use a small amount of the balm and massage it over your dry face and neck.  Add water and continue to massage it on your skin before removing it with a muslin cloth.

It comes in a tube so there is no wastage and you aren't putting dirty fingers into the clean product and contaminating it like the balms that come in tubs. It's easy to apply and doesn't need to be rubbed in your hands first to melt  it like some balms. It removes make up and grime and your face feels really clean after using it without feeling dry and tight.  I love the smell as well, it's a light smell which doesn't overpower you.  All in all I can't fault with this product I really like it.

I will definitely be repurchasing this product and trying a few more Merumaya products as there is a good range to try out.

This melting cleansing balm costs £15.50 for 100ml and can be purchased here.
I bought the You Beauty Discovery Box with my own money.

Victoria's Secret Reward Card Free When You Spend £10

I love Victoria's Secret underwear, although it can be a little pricey.  I was browsing in the Victoria's Secret store in the Trinity Centre in Leeds this weekend and noticed that the free reward card offer was back on.  Basically, if you spend over £10 you will receive a free reward card, which can be used to receive money off a purchase between 30th March and 28th April 2015.   Between those dates you can check the value of your card at the checkout and find out if it's worth £10, £50, £100 or £500 off you next purchase.  Obviously, most cards will be worth £10, but it's still a good deal to spend £10 and receive £10 off your next purchase.
Victoria's Secret Reward Card Free When You Spend £10
They did this offer at the end of 2014 and I used my reward cards to buy some of their great fragrance mists which ended up costing a couple of pounds.

The reward card will be given out with all purchases of £10 or more between 26 February and 29 March 2015.
