Kiko Haul

I just thought I would do a quick post on my Kiko haul that I bought when I was in London at the weekend.  I think it was the first day they had opened their Regent Street store so I couldn't resist going on a shopping spree.  I have been to Kiko before when I visited Rome a couple of years ago so I knew what to expect, although I did wonder if the prices would be higher, but they seemed pretty reasonable.

Anyway here is a picture of my haul. I will post more info and swatches at the weekend.

Has anyone else visited Kiko on Regent Street?

October & November Empties

Heres a quick post about the products I have used up in October and November.  There is something so satisfying about finishing a product, especially when you are a shopaholic who has numerous other products stashed away waiting to be used.  Heres a photo of all the products that I have managed to use up (I have included samples as well).

I won't go through everything individually, just pick out the ones that I really enjoyed and will repurchase and those that I wasn't a big fan of.

I really enjoyed using the Klorane Nourishing treatment shampoo with mango butter and the conditioner with mango butter (nourishing and detangling). Both are for dry and damaged hair.  They both left my hair feeling soft and moisturised and they have a nice mango fragrance as well.  I bought them from Escentual when they were offering 30% off, so I will stock up next time there is an offer.

I finished a perfume, Dolce & Gabbana Rose the One.  I really like this and although I won't rush out and repurchase, I will probably buy another one in the January sales if they are on offer.

Another product that I will repurchase from Escentual when they have another offer on is A-Derma Emolliant Balm which reduces dryness and calms irritations.  I have been through a period of having really dry and sensitive skin which is thankfully over now, but this body lotion really helped sooth my skin and did not irritate it in the slightest.

I will definitely repurchase John Frieda Frizz-Ease Dream Curls styling spray. It leaves my curly hair soft and defined and doesn't leave them crispy which can happen with some sprays and mousses.  I usually buy this from Boots when they have an offer on.

I have finished my last Victoria's Secret Fragrance mist in Amber Romance which I have reviewed here.  This is one of my absolute favourite body sprays and I will be stocking up on a few more shortly.

I will definitely be buying more Snow Fairy Shower Gel from Lush.  It has such a sweet, sugary scent.  I will wait and see if it is reduced in the January sales.

I really like Percy & Reed Finishing polish for smoothing down my frizzy ends. I got this free with a magazine, so not sure if I will buy it full price, but if it comes free with a magazine again I will definitely stock up.  I think I have 1 or 2 more tubes left in my stash.

I bought an Aromatherapy Associates Little Treat Revive Evening Bath & Shower Oil when it was half price in the SPACE.NK sale last Christmas.  I think it was £6 for 7.5ml.  This lasted about 4 or 5 baths, so I will buy it again if there are any offers as it is a really luxurious oil that makes for a relaxing soak in the tub.

I enjoyed using the Etat Pur Micellar Cleansing Water as it is perfect for removing makeup.  I got this in a beauty box that I purchased and I would say that it is just as good as Bioderma.

I tried a sachet of Loreal New EverRiche Shampoo.  This really suited my hair, so I will buy a full size shampoo and also try out the conditioner as well.

I tried a sample of Chanel Perfection Lumiere Long Wear Flawless Fluid Makeup SPF10 in beige.  This just wasn't moisturising enough for my skin and the colour wasn't the right match for me so I would not buy full size.

I finished a little tub of Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream which I received in last years Selfridges beauty advent calender.  I really like this moisturiser so I have already repurchased a full size.

I tried a small sample of Yu-be mositurizing skin cream.  This didn't really do anything for my skin and I didn't like the smell, so I won't buy a full size of this product.  This came in a beauty box that I purchased.

Essential Care organic rose moisturiser is for all skin types, this is free from all the nasties like toxic chemicals and sulphates and is not tested on animals.  I really like that this product does not contain chemicals, but I found it was a little bit watery, although it did moisturise my skin.  I may try out some more products from this range in the future.  This came in a beauty box that I purchased.

One of my staples that I go through quite  a lot of is The Body Shop Hand Cleanse Gel.  This one is the strawberry version and they all smell very fruity. They are handy to keep in your bag, or car or work drawer and I find they really do help me stay away from the germs that seem to go through the office like wildfire when someone starts with a cold.  I will definitely keep repurchasing these.  They cost £2.50 and I always take advantage of the 40% off when you buy 4 items at The Body Shop outlet which makes them £1.50 each.

I could go on, but nothing else made much of an impression and especially with the samples, its hard to tell after one use.

All the above products were purchased by me with my own money (the sachets came free with magazines that I purchased)

Neals Yard Remedies Bee Lovely to your hands Hand Cream Review

I don't normally have much to say about hand creams as they are pretty boring products. They keep my hands soft and that's about it, I could get away with just using body lotion on them if I am being quite honest.  That being said, I do have a few words to say about the Bee Lovely hand cream from Neal's Yard.  I always pick something up from Neal's Yard when I am in Covent Garden in London as they have some really nice products and once I smelled this cream I was totally sold, even though I was definitely not planning on buying a hand cream (since I have so many from various magazine freebies in the last few years).

This cream smells amazing.  I normally have problems with describing fragrances, but with this I have absolutely no problems. It makes your hands smell like you have just peeled the juiciest, sweetest orange you have ever tasted in your life.  Even if  you don't use hand cream, just put some on your hands and inhale the fragrance.  Its so fresh and sweet and it encourages me to use hand cream even when I can't really be bothered. This product contains moisturising organic honey,  which is blended with energising orange essential oil.

This cream contains no mineral oils, no silicones, no EDTA, no phthalates, no parabens and no synthetic fragrances or colours.

You can buy the hand cream online from Neal's Yard here.  It costs £10 for 50ml.

I bought this product with my own money.

My Marc Jacobs giveaway is here.

October Use it or Lose it Challenge Update

Its a bit late but I wanted to provide an update on the October Use it or Lose it Challenge.  This time I chose 11 products to try, to see if I liked them enough to keep or if I should get rid of them.

The products I decided to use or lose in October were:

Here are the results:

Vanitas Versace Perfume 4.5ml - I like this perfume so I will definitely be keeping it.  It has a light floral smell that is not too overpowering so can be worn through the day.

Avon Glimmerstick Diamonds Eye Liner in Smokey Diamond - This one was easy to apply and gave my eyes definition so I will keep this one.  Its a smokey grey with a bit of shimmer in it.

Elf Shimmer Eye Liner Pencil - This worked well so I will keep this one.  Its pretty similar to the one above but has a softer tip so is easier to apply.

Avon Super Shock Gel Eye Liner in Black - This was too thick and too dark and it looked like I had a black eye when I applied it even with a light hand.  Definitely getting rid of this one.

Avon Glimmerstick Brow Definer - This was too dark for my eye brows so another one I'm getting rid off.

MUA Undressed Eyeshadow Palette - I was really impressed with this palette and it is definitely a great alternative to the Naked palettes.  The shadows are nicely pigmented and soft and apply and blend really well.  The staying power is pretty good too especially with a primer underneath.  I will definitely be keeping this palette as I think it will get lots of use.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour Blush in Tipsy - A little goes a long way with this product, so you have to be light handed with application, but this is a great colour with really good staying power.  I have since bought a Tarte blush and bronzer palette (see my Sephora haul here), as this is such a great brand. This is definitely a keeper.

Mac Prep+Prime BB Creme - I really did not like this bb cream.  It did not suit my dry skin at all.  It was hard to blend and made absolutely no difference to how my skin looked.  This product was a total fail for me and will be going on ebay.

Tarte Lip Service Limited Edition Lip Surgence collection - 5 Lip Tints. - These are similar to Clinique Chubby Sticks.  They give a nice sheer tint to the lips and they are really lovely coral and berry colours.  I know I will use these, so I will keep them.

Benefit Benetint Rose tinted lip and cheek stain 4ml - Thanks to the lady applying makeup on the train (see my original post here), I was inspired to try out this product and I am so glad that I did.  It is really easy to apply and leaves a light flush on the cheeks, that is perfect for the daytime.  Another product winner.  This has inspired me to try the other Benefit cheek tints that I own.

MAC Eye Shadow in Sable 1.5g - I really enjoyed using this shadow which is great as a crease shadow or all over the lid for a darker look.  Its very versatile and I can use it for a few different looks.

So out of the 11 products I started out with I'm keeping 8 and getting rid of 3.

I'm really enjoying completing this challenge and its helping me reduce my stash which is definitely needed if you have read about my recent haul posts.  I am definitely going to do the challenge again so watch out for another post in December.

Please feel free to take up the Use it or Lose it Challenge and send me a link to your posts.

I have paid for all the products mentioned above with my own money.

November Birchbox Review (and October too)

I just received the November Birchbox, so I thought I would do a quick review of the contents.

Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Souffle Body Creme 25g - I was glad to receive this product rather than the Laura Mercier mascara that some people have received, as I have so many mascaras in my stash that it would take me ages to get round to using another one.  The body creme will be an easy one to use.  It has a lovely musky vanilla scent and is rich without being too thick to rub into your skin.

Weleda OAT Replenishing Shampoo for dry and damaged hair 18ml -  I am a bit bored of receiving Weleda products as they have been in quite a few boxes. That being said my hair is dry and damaged so I may as well use this, although on my thick hair I will only be able to test this once, so I wont be able to tell too much from 1 use.

Chella highlighter pencil 1.4g - I have never heard of this brand before, but I have tried this highlighter and it seems to be more of a concealer, eyeshadow base than a highlighter to me.  It doesn't leave a glow on my skin at all.

Spa Find Sculpted Silhouette Intensive Bust Firming Extract Serum 6ml - I don't use this kind of product normally, but I will definitely give it a go.

English Laundry Signature for her Eau de Parfum 2ml - this is a little sample but it smells light and fresh.  Its nice enough, but I probably won't buy the full size based on this sample.  It's not the greatest name either.

There were also a couple of extras:

Pukka Herbs Selection of Teas - I don't drink tea so this one is wasted on me. I wish they would stop putting tea bags in beauty boxes.

Pencil sharpener - I suppose this is to use on the highlighter, but I already have quite a few, so don't really need this one.

Overall this was a nice box and as always Birchbox has come up with a good range of products to try, but I wasn't totally wowed with it.

As I was on holiday for most of October I didn't have a chance to review the October Birchbox, so I thought I would do a quick review now.

I really liked the October box as it had some stand out products.

Top item was Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 in Sand 14.7ml -  I have used this product before in the shade nude and I really like it.  I think sand would be a bit dark for me normally, but as I have a bit of a tan this works really well.  It gives a nice sheer coverage that blends really well.

KMS California Curl Up Wave Foam Mousse  75g - this was spot on for me as I have curly hair.  This worked well at defining my curls without leaving them crispy.  This is a nice size product as well.

Akane Mask Cocoon Nocturne 12ml - this is a fresh apple scented gel mask which helps to beat the signs of tiredness and hydrate thirsty skin.  You apply a thin layer on your face and leave it on overnight, then rinse off the next morning.

TheBalm Cosmetics Stainic 1.2ml - this is pretty similar to Benefit Benetint and gives the same subtle flush on your cheeks.

Dr Lipp Nipple Balm for lips 3ml - strange name, but it works great as a lip balm and keeps my lips soft and smooth and flake free.

Lifestyle Extra - UltraDex Wire-Free Interdental brushes - I use these types of brushes regularly, so I don't mind receiving them as an extra.

Beauty Extra - Egyptian Magic 3x 3ml sachets - I have seen this product in a few stores and been curious about it, but the cost put me off (approx £25), so I was really happy that this was included in the box.  You rub it in your palms until it has changed into an oil consistency then apply.  I have used it on a few dry areas of skin and it works really well, although not sure I would pay £25 for a full size.

I have to say that the October box was one of the best yet as I will use all the products and it was a really nice range.

What did you think of the Birchboxes you received?

YOU BEAUTY Discovery Box Review

I recently subscribed to the YOU BEAUTY Discovery Box.  I like the fact that it only costs £6.95 per month including postage and you get to choose the 2 main items that will be in the box.

There was a good selection of products to choose from including a Nailberry nail polish, a FACE Stockholm creme lipstick, Oriflame Wonder Lash Mascara, Murad Osmolyte Tonic and Maddi Alexander bath & body oil.

I chose moa the green balm (full size 50ml) which is worth approx £10.  I chose this item as I have bought it before and it is great for dry patches on my skin.

I also chose Neo Stem Anti-Accelerated Aging Serum. This is an active serum against signs of lipoatrophy and premature aging.  I am really into serums at the moment and thought this would be a good one to add to my stash to try out.  This is a full size 30ml bottle and is currently for sale at M&S for £59, so this is amazing value for such a cheap beauty box.  I can't wait to try this serum.

I addition, I also received a sample of Montagne Jeunesse Body Smoothie and a sample of Lizis granola pink apple & cinnamon toasted cereal.

I think this is a great beauty box and the options were really good.  I love the fact that you get to choose the 2 main items in your box out of approx 8 options every month.  I will be interested to see if the options next month are as good.   Here's hoping.

Glamour Magazine Nails Inc Freebies and The Body Shop Joy Cards

I couldn't resist buying Decembers Glamour magazine when I found out that there were free Kate Spade Nails Inc nail polishes in 4 gorgeous colours and The Body Shop Joy cards worth at least £3, especially as the magazine only costs £2.  Ok, its not technically free as although I would normally buy 1 Glamour magazine I wouldn't buy 4, but its a free Nails Inc polish for goodness sake (which normally costs £11),  I cant be expected to resist that surely.  So yes, I did buy 4 magazines to get the 4 colours and I also got 4 £3 Joy cards to use in The Body Shop.  So all in all I felt like it was worth getting them.  The nail polish colours are fab and will be great to use for Christmas nights out.

The colours are:
Big Apple Red - A great bold bright red
Uptown Glamour - A gorgeous metallic gold shimmer
Soho Silver - A lovely metallic silver shimmer
New York Noir - A dark black (I am impressed with this as it applies nicely in just 1 coat)

I love the names and the colours so I cant wait to try them all.

I also got 4 £3 Joy cards to use at The Body Shop.  I wish I was one of the lucky ones to get one of the higher valued cards but hey £3 isn't bad.  I bought the items below with my vouchers and some cash (there were plenty of items that cost £3 or less, so you wouldn't have to spend any money at all, but these are the ones I wanted to try out).

Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo for Dry/Flaky Scalps - 250ml - £4.50 (this cost me £1.50 after using the voucher).  This really soothes my scalp as I do sometimes suffer from a dry scalp.

Moringa Shower Gel - a Soap Free Cleanser with Moringa extract - 250ml - £4 (this cost me £1 after using the voucher).

Rainforest Moisture - Hair Butter for Dry Hair - 50ml - £3 (this was free after using the voucher)

Facial Massager - £6 (this cost me £3 after using the voucher).  I saw this on Caroline Hirons Beauty Mouth Blog here and was intrigued about this so thought I would try it out.

I bought all the above for £5.50 when it should have cost £17.50 so I am pleased with that.

Just a quick reminder my Marc Jacobs Nail Polish giveaway is still open.  Check it out here.

Blog Competition Win

I was recently lucky enough to win Sam @ Honey Go-Lightly's 2nd birthday giveaway and I just wanted to do a post about the prize that I won as its really nice.  Check out Sams blog here.

First up are 2 great Illamasqua products that I was really happy to receive as its one of my favourite brands.  I won a lipstick in the shade Eurydice which is a really bright hot pink colour.  This is outside my normal comfort zone for lipstick shades as I am more a neutral pink toned kind of gal, but I am definitely going to give this a go as its good to try something new.  I also received a nail polish in the shade Force which is a great purple colour and is right up my alley.  I can't wait to try this out.

I was so pleased to receive a Bourjois Cream Blush in 01 Nude Velvet.  I love Bourjois cream blushes and I already own 1 in a different shade.  This one is a lovely nude, peachy colour and really suits my skin tone.

I am really interested to try the Laura Geller inkwell waterproof gel liner.  I have never used a gel liner before and usually stick to eye liner pencils as they are really easy to use.  I can't wait to see if this is easy to use as well. I hope so.

I haven't come across the Lord & Berry brand before, but I love this lip pencil in the shade scarlett.

Finally, The Vintage Cosmetic Company Eyelash curler.  I have already tried this out and it definitely does make a difference on eyelashes, so I will get use out of this.

Have you won any competitions lately?  Its easy to think that you will never win a comp but its a nice surprise when you do so get entering.  Here's one to start you off with.  My Marc Jacobs Giveaway here.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Nail Polish Giveaway

Here's my 2nd giveaway and I am really excited that the prize is a Marc Jacobs nail polish as they are not available in the UK yet. I bought this in Sephora when I was in Los Angeles (see my Marc Jacobs haul post here). The polish that I am giving away is called Jezebel (loving this name) and is a gorgeous deep red colour.

This is the actual polish but the top picture reflects the colour better.

For your chance to win, just enter via Rafflecopter below. To enter, please follow me on Bloglovin and leave me your email address. The other entries are all optional.

Unfortunately, because the giveaway prize is a nail polish, I am unable to accept international entries.  This giveaway is only for people with a UK address.   I will do another giveaway in the New Year which will be open to international entrants.

Good luck everyone.

BBB Beauty Box II

I was so excited to receive the BBB Beauty Box II, I even answered the door to the postman in my pj's and unbrushed, frizzy hair (how attractive), as I didn't want to risk missing the delivery.

This is how beauty boxes should be, a mix of brands that you have heard of and are excited to try out, and some new brands that give you a chance to try new products and who knows maybe even find a HG item.  I love a box that is not afraid to let you know whats inside before you buy.  That's the sign of confidence in their product and the fact that they all sold out in 1 morning shows how popular these boxes are (I think 750 boxes were available in total).  The box cost £22 + £5.95 P&P but the value of the box is approximately £150, which I think is an absolute bargain.

Here's a list of the products that came in the box (list taken from British Beauty Bloggers site here and I have added my comments in italic).

Alterna Bamboo Volume 48 Hour Spray (25ml) - With curly hair, this is the one product in the box that I don't really need, but I do occasionally straighten my hair, so I will probably try it out the next time I have straight hair.
Bourjois Shadow & Light Khol & Contour Eye Liner (Full Size) - this is an eye pencil with silver on 1 end and black on the other end.  Very versatile and useful, I will probably keep this in my handbag when I go out for the night for top ups.
CND Vinylux (Pinkie Size) - I have never heard of this product, but I am really interested to try it to find out if its any good.  This nail polish set comes with 1 colour (tropix a bubblegum pink colour) and 1 weekly top coat.  This polish should last for 1 weeks wear on your nails so I will let you know if this is the case when I have used it.
Indeed Labs Hydraluron Serum (5ml) - I have heard so much about this product and how hydrating it is.  I have never used a product with Hyaluronic Acid, so I cant wait to try this out.
L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Hand Cream (30ml) - You can't go wrong with L'Occitane Hand Cream and I haven't tried the Cherry Blossom version, so happy to receive this in the box
L’Occitane Angelica Cleansing Gel (50ml) - I always like to try out new cleansers and toners and I haven't tried anything other than hand cream from L’Occitane, so I am happy to try this out.
L’Occitane Angelica Face Toner (50ml)  - as above
La Roche Posay Redermic (Full Size) - I have tried La Roche Posay products before, but not this one.  This is an anti-aging product and I am particularly interested in trying out products that help with uneven skin tone and sun damage, so I can't wait to try out this product and report back on it.  This is a full size product as well which is very generous.
Mandara Spa Tropical Blooms Moisturising Bath Milk (100ml) - I have used Mandara Spa products previously, but this is one I haven't used before.  I will enjoy trying this out in a relaxing bath as its a calming ritual scent.
Maybelline Rocket Mascara (Full Size) - You really can't go wrong with Maybelline Mascaras.  Again I haven't tried this particular one before, so I will review it when I have used it.
REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask (15ml) - I have heard great things about this product, so I am interested to see the results it gives.
REN Invisible Pores Detox Mask (15ml) - This can be used with the radiance renewal mask above, or by itself, so I will try it both ways.
Rituals Car Fragrance (Full Size) - I didn't know Rituals did car fragrances, so I am going to pop this in my car today.
Roger & Gallet Huile Sublime (10ml) - I like dry oils, but I haven't tried this one before.
Rouge Bunny Rouge Lip Gloss (Full Size) - I received the colour Uncaged Tigeress which is a lovely dark pinkish red colour.  I really like this colour and it will be great for Christmas parties.
Urban Decay Eye Shadow in Zodiac (Full Size) - I only have the Naked palette from Urban decay, but I have never owned an individual eyeshadow.  The colour I received is Zodiac which is a gorgeous shimmery green colour.  I can't wait to try this.  I love the packaging as well.
Vichy Idealia Day Cream (15ml) - I recently received a bottle of the Vichy Idealia Life Serum to review, so it is great that I have the matching Day Cream to use in conjunction with the serum.  This product is paraben free.
Washi Wash Cloth - I have used muslin cloths before as part of my cleansing routine, but this pure cotton hot cloth looks totally different, so I can't wait to give this a try.

Overall, I think this is an absolutely fantastic box and I can't wait to try out all the products.  There is not one product that I won't be able to make use of.

Here's a link to British Beauty Bloggers website.  This is one of my favourite blogs and it is a great place to find out about all the new beauty products that are about to be launched.

Were you lucky enough to receive one of these boxes?

Update to original post:  I just thought I would swatch the lip gloss and the eyeshadow for you.

The lip gloss is a gorgeous sheer raspberry colour and the eyeshadow is a shimmery deep green with black undertones and gold/silver/green/blue glitter. This will make a great bold eye colour and I can't wait to use it.

Update on the Real Techniques Brushes at Asda

I recently wrote about the Real Techniques brushes being sold at Asda for bargain prices here.  I just wanted to let you know that I went back about a week later and all the brushes have gone up in price.  They are still cheaper than in boots, but not as good a bargain as before.

For instance the Core Collection set of brushes was originally for sale at £11.57 and now Asda are charging £15.97.  The Expert Face Brush was originally £4.96 and now its £6.61.

I think this just proves that when you see a bargain you have to snap it up straight away, because it might not be there when you go back.

Did anyone manage to find the Real Techniques brushes at Asda?

Marc Jacobs Beauty Haul & Giveaway News

When I visited America, Sephora was the first shop I wanted to visit and one of the reasons was that I couldn't wait to check out the new Marc Jacobs Beauty line.  I was like a kid in a candy shop. It is a great range with a lot of really nice products and colours.  I visited Sephora a number of times while I was on holiday as I just couldn't make up my mind what to buy, but in the end I went for 2 Lust For Lacquer Lip Vinyl Sheer Lip Glosses and 4 Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquers.
The Lust For Lacquer Lip Vinyl Sheer Lip Glosses I purchased were -  Lust for Life (312) a shimmering reddish raspberry and Sweet Escape (306) a shimmering nude pink.  They were $28 each (approx £17).   These are sheer lip glosses that have a really nice caramel fragrance.  At first I wasn't sure about the plumping formula, but when I put the gloss on I do feel a tingling on my lips although I'm not sure if it makes my lips look any fuller.
The description on the website says:
A champagne grape-infused lip vinyl with a shimmery wash of lust-worthy, sheer-coverage color.  This lightly pigmented, plumping formula is infused with antioxidants, essential oils, and a hint of effervescence for a perfect pout with the highest shine. The patented, pillowed applicator glides on the lip vinyl for precise application with a shimmery, lust-worthy finish.
Left to Right Lust for Life & Sweet Escape
The Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquers I purchased were - Gatsby (110) a metallic champagne pink, Sally (130) an iridescent blackened green, Jezebel (138) an opaque black cherry red and Petra (140) a dirty bronze metallic shimmer. These were $18 each (approx £12).  I have only used them for the photo below and only Sally needed 2 coats, but they all dried really quickly(without a top coat).  They all look just as good on the nail as they do in the bottle.  I haven't tried Jezebel for a reason you will find out at the end of this post.   Sally looks better in real life, than it does in the photo, as the green shows up more.
The description on the website says:
A superior polish with an unprecedented finish and the shine of 30 coats of lacquer. Get smitten with this fresh take on nail enamel. Inspired by Marc’s highly lacquered coffee table, Enamored Hi-Shine Lacquer is formulated with patented bonding agents that deliver a plasticized, wet look, while the color-rich creams and fine glitters ensure vivid, chip-resistant wear. Choose from a vast array of shades inspired by Marc’s favorite movies. The custom, curve-hugging brush optimizes application and the curvature of the bottle resembles a smile. Each shade is 3-Free: formulated without toluene, formaldehyde, and DBP.
Top to bottom - Petra, Gatsby & Sally

I was really pleased with my purchases and can't wait to use them all.  As its not available over here I thought a product from this range would be a really great giveaway, so look out for a Marc Jacobs giveaway soon.  The prize will be the Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer in Jezebel (138).

What Marc Jacobs beauty products would you like to try?

Real Techniques Brushes - Bargains at Asda

I was in Asda doing a late night shop yesterday and I walked down the beauty aisle just to check out if there were any bargains to be had.  I happened to notice some Real Techniques brushes on a stand and had a quick look and was amazed at the prices.  I picked up the Real Techniques Core Collection containing a detailer brush, pointed foundation brush, buffing brush and contour brush.  This cost £11.57 (in Boots this retails for £21.99).  I also picked up the Expert Face Brush for £4.96 (this brush costs £9.99 in Boots).

I have been meaning to pick up the Core Collection for a while, but could never justify spending over £20 for brushes that I don't really need, but for £12 I just could not resist.  I already have the face brush, but I really like it so I thought it was well worth picking up another one.  In the past I put my foundation on with my fingers, but found that I was always left with the foundation highlighting the dry patches on my skin. The face brush makes it really easy to apply my foundation and leaves me with a flawless finish, so I highly recommend it.
As well as the Core Collection, Asda were also selling the blush brush, the stippling brush and an eye shadow brush.  These brushes were all between £5 and £6.50.

I can't wait to try the Core Collection, and I will write a review once I have used them.  I also want to buy the new make up sponge from Real Techniques, but unfortunately, Asda did not sell this item, so I will pick it up next time I am in Boots.

Elle Magazine Freebie - Benefit Lipglosses

The December issue of Elle Magazine is out now and it comes with a great freebie.  Each magazine comes with a Benefit lipgloss and there are 3 to choose from - Coralista (coral colour), Hoola (dark beige nude) and Dandelion (a light creamy nude colour).  Each lipgloss is 6.5ml.  I picked the Coralista as I liked the colour, but I think that I might also pick up the Hoola gloss as well.  The magazine costs £4.  The full size lipgloss (15ml) retails for £14.50 on the benefit website, so the lipgloss that comes with the magazine is worth £6.28.
